Springer Nature and MPDL Services GmbH on behalf of Projekt DEAL: "SPRINGER NATURE AND GERMANY’S PROJEKT DEAL FINALISE WORLD’S LARGEST TRANSFORMATIVE OPEN ACCESS AGREEMENT"

"Through the agreement, authors affiliated with the 700+ German academic and research institutions which are part of Projekt DEAL, will be able to publish their accepted manuscripts immediate (gold) OA in both Springer Nature ‘hybrid’ and fully OA journals, with the relative costs managed centrally by their institutions ... The fully OA publishing element will come into effect from 1st August 2020 to allow new administrative processes to be set in place. It will enable centrally administered OA publishing in Springer Nature’s fully OA portfolio, which includes Scientific Reports and Nature Communications. A 20% discount will also be applied to the article processing charges (APCs) of the SpringerOpen and BMC imprints." https://www.mpg.de/14334431/springer-nature-and-germany-projekt-deal-finalise-largest-transformative-open-access-agreement

I will follow up with detailed information for our Max Planck institutes as soon as possible (Jan. 13, 2020)

Cambridge University Press (CUP): "Building on the ‘read and publish’ agreement coordinated by the Bavarian State Library (BSB) with financial support from the German Research Foundation (DFG), MPDL on behalf of the Max Planck Society has now entered in a new open access agreement with Cambridge University Press (CUP), which allows authors to publish open access in all CUP fully open access and hybrid journals. The Open Access agreement with Max Planck Society centrally covers the open access charge for affiliated submitting corresponding authors who publish in CUP journals under a Creative Commons license. In addition, MPG members will have access to CUP’s full collection of nearly 400 journals." MPDL homepage Jun. 04, 2019

American Chemical Society (ACS) "The Max Planck Society has established a new open access agreement with the American Chemical Society (ACS) which covers open access publishing of all accepted articles by submitting corresponding Max Planck authors in ACS journals that offer a Creative Commons Attribution license (CC-BY); under the agreement, the relative article processing charges will be paid for centrally by the Max Planck Digital Library. The agreement also covers read access to the ACS “All Publications” Package and Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN)" As the agreement aims to facilitate immediate open access availability, applications for funding should be made immediately but no later than 2 weeks after the ACS acceptance notification .
